Flaxseed for Babies!

We all know the benefits of Flax Seed, its an amazing nutrient. Well what about incorporating it in your baby food. I add Milled Flax Seed in my sons oatmeal in the morning. Hodgson Mill is the brand and you can purchase it at your local Trader Joe's. It has 2600 mgs of Omega 3-Oils, its a great source of fiber, is gluten free and has no salt, trans fats or sugar. What's better than that! Its all natural and is milled so fine my baby doesn't even notice it's in his oatmeal. I highly recommend this product if you are interested in incorporating Omega-3 Fatty acids in your childs food. I know there is a concern with Fish Oils containing traces of Mercury, Flaxseed is a great alternative. Try it out you have nothing to loose but a healthier baby!

Buttons!

I never understood why baby clothes had buttons on them. Aren't buttons considered choking hazards. The other day my son had the top button of his shirt in his mouth, trying to rip it off. I nearly freaked and literally ripped the shirt off of him. We all know babys will put anything in there mouth and here they have these colorful looking round things on there clothes, of course there going to chew on them. What are these companies thinking, what was i thinking to put the button filled shirt on him. To say the least all button riddened clothes are off to charity. I think these companies should put a little more thought on what they put on baby clothes. What do you think?

Graco playpens

Have you ever wondered why the frames of your playpen weren't padded? I mean it would make sense to pad them especially when your babys runs around the play pen at full speed. I had a horrible experience the other day when my son bashed his face on the upper frame which is just a hard pole covered by thin fabric. He cut open his gums and was bleeding. I was furious at the company and myself for letting my child play in such a unsafe playpen. I am off to buy a playpen that is padded. What are these companies thinking when they put such unsafe products on the market. Lesson learned here.

Welcome to the Mommies Corner

As you may have have figured out i am a Mommy! I have a 15 year old teenage girl and an 11 month old baby boy so you know my hands are filled. I am a stay at home mom who wanted to start a blog for mommies to read, relate and share advice with each other. I will be giving some advice in this blog on Nutrition for children, safety tips, CPR for infants and children as well as my every day experiences. I will also be reviewing baby products and i will share what works and what doesn't. I will be keeping you up to date on all recalls for baby products. Right now i am focusing on two things, raising my children on one hand and starting a Beauty Consulting business on the other. I would like to join both these worlds together in harmony.
